DOES HOLIDAY MODE MAKE YOU FEEL GUILTY? Here is what to do while enjoying it all…

With the Holiday 🎄 season approaching fast I can see supermarkets fuller than usual and shopping carts fuller than the rest of the year.

This year was strange, we can all agree on that and in many families Christmas will be different too as people cannot freely travel.

So as I was watching people loading their carts I thought maybe food is the only comfort for many at the moment.🥺

I don´t see any problem in celebrating Holidays enjoying the abundance of food.

Even if I might look like a kale junkie 🙈, I love to enjoy chocolate, biscuits and all the Christmas goodies. But I no longer get to the guilty place where I feel like a whale not able to move because of eating too much and moving too little over a few days in a row.

Because here´s the fact.

Digestion of heavy foods takes too much energy and then there is not enough energy for recovery of the tissues, cellular housekeeping and toxins elimination. And the result is a weaker immune system.

If we´ve learnt something during 2020 is the importance of prioritizing health.

It is not the absence of a vaccine that makes us ill. It is the weak immune system that doesn´t protect us from preventable disease.

And when we could agree globally that we would wear masks to protect others, why not to protect ourselves too?

Look, I´m not here to tell you not to enjoy your turkey, fish or whatever it is on your Christmas table. 🥐🍗🍲🍕🧁🍫🍭

We all should and most of all ENJOY it without feeling guilty.

But I want to make a few suggestions that will make it easier on your body, so that in the end the only thing you think of during Holidays won´t be the diet that follows…

1️⃣ Go outside every day. It is tempting to stay cozy inside with all the Christmas movies line up, pastries and a bottle of wine. But try to commit to go for a walk or a run( 10 bonus points) outside, breathe fresh air and move. It will improve your metabolism, accelerate your digestion and help you get rid of toxins if you get some sweat too. 🏃🏽‍♀️


2️⃣ Drink plenty of water. Especially in between those glasses of wine of all the fancy drinks. It will help you to flush the toxins out of your body faster and reduce the impact on your immune system. Just set up an alarm in your phone every hour or 2 saying it's time for a glass of water. It will also raise your energy level and you´ll feel great. 💧


3️⃣ Make sure that you´re getting fresh vegetables and fruit every day. They are rich in fiber so it will help your digestion to keep things moving. And you´ll also get an extra boost of vitamins to strengthen your immune system. 🥑🥦🥕

4️⃣ Get a good rest and quality sleep. Make it a priority, because some important housekeeping has to be done in your body. If you struggle with sleep, take a hot bath with epsom salt, switch off electronic devices in your bedroom and stop eating at least 1 hour before you go to bed. 😴

5️⃣ Enjoy without guilt! The mind can be a very powerful tool, but also a nasty enemy. Don´t torture yourself feeling guilty for every piece of cake and glass of wine. There is nothing wrong with them unless it doesn´t become a daily routine. 🥳

As far as we can look back in human history, there were moments for feasts and celebrations and then moments for fasting and routine and that´s balance. And balance is what we all need…
