IMPROVE YOUR CONSISTENCY WITH A STRATEGIC EVENING ROUTINE.
You’ve probably seen many successful people getting up early and having non-negotiable morning routines and swearing about the importance of it.
I have mine too and I cannot imagine my life without it anymore, because it brought me so much improvement and benefits.
But it wasn’t a quick process. Actually it took me years to get where I am now.🙄
Guess why… consistency!🤷🏼♀️
Yes, consistency is the number 1 struggle when it comes to healthy habits for most people.
I know it because I asked many times and then I started to think about it.. how can I help people to become more consistent?
An accountability partner is definitely a huge help, but for me the consistency improved dramatically, when I reduced the friction.
Let me explain.
Your successful morning routine starts the night before, when you decide about how you want to start the next day and prepare the conditions for success.
Do you want to start with exercise?
✅ Prepare your outfit, playlist and start to look forward to it.
Do you want to start with meditation?
✅ Prepare your meditation cushion with a candle next to it or a difuser with your favorite essential oil blend and start to look forward to it.
Do you want to start the day nourished?
✅ Make sure your kitchen is clean and tidy before you go to bed and prepare all the ingredients and supplements for your juice or smoothie for the next day (you can even cut them in chunks already and store in the fridge to save some time).
People often talk about having an evening routine in place too.
I think it makes sense. But it makes much more sense if it is strategic.
So ask yourself - what is my biggest struggle at the moment?
And then design your evening routine accordingly.
So if you struggle with sleep, focus on switching off your electronic devices at least 1 hour before you go to bed, try meditation, yoga nidra, reading or anything that relaxes your nervous system.
If your main struggle is focus and procrastination, dedicate the last hour of your day to do some brain dump, writing down 1-3 to-do priorities for the next day and reduce friction- clean up your desk and prepare an inviting and visually pleasing environment for your work so that when you wake up you will look forward to spend time there.
If you struggle with healthy eating habits, use your evening routine to prepare your ingredients for your smoothie and plan your meals. Decide when you do a meal prep, when you get your groceries and write down what you are going to eat during the week. Clarity about this will reduce stress and save a lot of energy because you don’t have to make these decisions any more. And preparation of the ingredients reduces the friction, it will be smooth and easy to prepare your healthy meals.
Use your evening routine as a strategic foundation for the next day.
Treat it like the next day is a very important one, because any day can be life changing.. you never know.🤷🏼♀️✨
It will cultivate anticipation and you’ll start to look forward to the next day. That will build up a momentum and eventually lead to a consistent lifestyle.
So yes, an evening routine is important, because it also sets up the tone for the next day.
Doesn’t matter if you have the ultimate morning routine on your to-do list if the first thing in the morning you have to deal with is a messy kitchen or looking for your meditation cushion.🤦🏼♀️
And now, it´s your turn.
Take a moment, write it down, get ready, do it and let the magic happen by collecting successful mornings, days and years to come. 🙌🏼
